Summers in Istanbul are generally hot and humid, and on the hottest days can become uncomfortably so. Summer is between June and September and the hottest months are July and August when the average daytime high is 28C (82F). Nighttimes do not offer huge respite from the heat and humidity, as the average low drops to only 19C (66/67F).

Precipitation is quite low during the summer, and during the winter snow is common, usually falling some time between January and March and being quite heavy when it does so.
The winter highs range from 14C (57F) in November to 8C (46F) in January and the average lows do not drop below freezing across the year. |
